Position Title: Project Foreman – Plumbing Field Operations Company: Zapas Construction Hourly Rate: $40.00–$60.00 per hour, based on experience (overtime and project bonuses available) Location: New York City, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Project Manager / Licensed Master Plumber

Job Overview Zapas Construction is seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman to lead field operations across multifamily and public works projects throughout New York City. In this key supervisory role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating crews, interpreting blueprints, overseeing installations, and ensuring all work is executed to the highest standard of safety, quality, and compliance with NYC Plumbing Code. If you're a skilled plumber and proven leader ready to take ownership of field operations, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct day-to-day activities of plumbing field crews (mechanics, apprentices, helpers).

Interpret and implement blueprints and riser diagrams for precise layout and installations.

Oversee installation of plumbing systems, gas piping, and fixture assemblies.

Conduct and monitor pressure tests, ensuring systems pass all inspections.

Schedule and coordinate DOB and third‑party inspections with the Project Manager.

Maintain accurate records of material usage and submit timely requests for replenishment.

Ensure all field activities meet jobsite safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized site.

Train, mentor, and evaluate junior staff to support skill development and job readiness.

Communicate regularly with the Project Manager to provide updates and resolve issues.

Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of hands‑on plumbing experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.

Extensive knowledge of NYC Plumbing Code, DOB permitting, and inspection protocols.

SST Supervisor Certification is required.

Gas Qualification certification preferred.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time, crews, and multiple tasks efficiently.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and management.

Competitive hourly wage ($40–$60/hour), plus overtime and project-based bonuses.

Work Location Active plumbing projects throughout New York City, NY. Field‑based with regular coordination with the main office and Project Manager.
