WE BELIEVE IN THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF COMFORT Job Summary: This role is key to the successful execution of inventory strategies across manufacturing sites and/or distribution centers. This role is responsible for the management of inventory health across raw materials and for MRP execution including optimization of safety stocks by location for finished goods, raw and WIP materials. This role coordinates with IBP and Materials leadership as well as corporate procurement to ensure alignment of purchasing strategies and incorporation of material flows into monthly updates of inventory forecasting. Directs, monitors and supports plant materials buyers and cover/RDC replenishments on all commodities assigned. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Communicate with demand planners to translate forecast into appropriate materials management and inventory strategies. Execution of all materials management policies and processes, including cycle counting, MRP or spreadsheet planning data management, Product style drop process. These policies and business processes are maintained in the materials manager playbook. Support key SOP processes which include inventory forecasting, critical supplier capacity planning, style balance out, and Critical Parts Checking reconciliation for all assigned commodities. Lead remote team members with buying responsibilities and ensure manufacturing business partners have appropriate support to meet their objectives for cost, delivery, and service level. Utilize Power BI to enhance key measure tracking and enable buying teams to succeed. Participate in monthly purchasing review meeting with companywide buying team to review metrics, target adherence, root cause for misses and solution-based forward actions. Develop, update, and report out on key metrics related to area of responsibility. Collaborate with Planners/Buyers on purchasing raw materials, or finished goods, relative to the published finished goods build plans, to ensure raw material will be ready in time to support the finished goods build plans. Report on inventory health performance, forecast, and continuous improvement efforts to IBP Leadership Team. Manage all necessary actions for product life cycle management. Work with the Data analytics team to ensure all system updates are done in a timely manner. Support Supply Chain projects and ITP as needed. SCOPE & IMPACT: Support activities that enable La-Z-Boy Supply Chain to meet Customer Service On-Time and Order Lead Time Objectives. Track and measure performance across 9 manufacturing locations (US and Mexico) Residential and Joybird manufacturing locations. Failure to manage inventory health has a direct impact on recognized revenue and corporate margin goal achievement. Failure to manage inventories can lead to either an excess or shortage in component parts and or finished goods, increasing inventory dollars or lack of work for plants while creating late units and potentially increasing freight cost for part expediting. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business, or related field with 8 - 10 years of relevant work experience. Strong proficiency in EXCEL and POWERPOINT. Experience leading supply planning, purchasing or inventory management. Experience with global multi-site support. Up to 30% travel including potentially international travel. PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience. ASCM (APICS), or equivalent certification. Oracle/JDE E1, Business Objects/Intellect, DOMO, or related ERP systems. Experience utilizing collaborative planning software. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
