Job Purpose:

The Deployed Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Defense and is accountable for efficiently managing company resources to maintain and modify aircraft in strict adherence to company and manufacturers' protocols and standards. The primary focus is on guaranteeing safety, optimal reliability, and cost-effective aircraft maintenance and modifications by controlling expenses, meeting deadlines, addressing customer requirements, and maintaining project scope.

Job duties include:

Maintaining Segment Aircraft:

Oversee and ensure the proper maintenance, currency of maintenance program, and effectiveness of fleet maintenance within the business segment, serving as the primary technical interface and coordinating maintenance requests at VBW.

Ensure Segment Compliance:

Ensure adherence to all Company procedures, including those outlined in the Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, General Maintenance Manual, Program Ground and Flight Operations Procedures (where applicable), and other relevant manuals.

Manage Customer Relationships:

Act as the primary Point of Contact for maintenance needs, by regularly communicating with customers to understand their needs and expectations, conducting periodic review meetings, and promptly addressing and resolving any customer concerns or program risks.

Manage Assigned Resources:

Ensure staffing levels are adequate to meet customer needs (partner with HR for recruitment/development/retention needs) (People, Aircraft, and Equipment) and ensure aircraft and equipment maintenance to ensure assets are safe and reliable while maintaining low operational cost and company dispatch reliability goals.

Communicating Needs:

Ensure timely reporting and communication of aircraft status, operational needs, logistical needs, and quality requirements to relevant parties, including the DOM, DOQ/Chief Inspector, and other stakeholders.

Optimize Processes:

Analyze current operational processes, identify improvement areas, develop and implement improvement initiatives, and monitor and adjust strategies based on impacts to processes and business.

Establish Team Goals:

Align with strategic goals, lead the team to develop action plans to achieve or exceed key metrics, and monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.

Manage and Develop Assigned Team Members:

Manage the FTR rotational schedule, training requirements, and provide leadership and clear direction. This includes regular performance reviews, feedback, identifying training needs, and facilitating professional development opportunities and growth.

Manage Initiatives:

Lead and manage strategic initiatives and projects, coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation, and track project progress and outcomes.

Resolve Conflicts:

Mediate disputes within the team and implement strategies to prevent future conflicts.

Manage Segment Finances:

Ensure monthly charges are properly captured, monthly invoices are reviewed and distributed to customers, and ensure timely payment from customers by addressing discrepancies or disputes as they arise.

Assist in Developing Business:

Collaborate with Business Development to conduct customer research, understand trends and needs, identify opportunities for growth, and provide recommendations based on research findings.

Qualified applicants will:

Hold an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P)

Be able to obtain a DOD Secret Security Clearance

Hold a valid US passport

Be able to travel OCONUS as needed (up to 15% - 25% travel expected)

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrate proven ability to be an effective team leader, able to adapt leadership and communication styles to lead a diverse group with varied backgrounds and skill sets

Be able to multitask, properly prioritizing project activity, effectively communicating and managing deadlines, challenges, process stages, and performing well under pressure in dynamic conditions

Be proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, etc.) and able to quickly learn personnel and finance information systems

Be willing to regularly work outside of regular business hours and on weekends, as customer and operational needs dictate

Exceptional candidates will:

Possess proficiency in utilizing ERP systems

Have some experience in Supply Chain management/coordination

Have experience with King Air and DHC-8 airframes

Job Experience:

Minimum five years working in an aviation maintenance and three years minimum supervisory experience.
