Scope of Work Under the supervision of the Compliance and Quality Control Manager, the incumbent is responsible for assisting the Bank’s lending operations in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, Bank policies and quality standards by providing management with information and data to identify and correct loan-related errors, mitigate compliance risk and facilitate continuous improvements.

Essential Functions 3)

Conducts post-closing transaction & compliance reviews of originated, withdrawn, and declined loans in accordance with the scope prescribed by the Lending Assurance Policy and the annual Lending Assurance Risk Assessment

Reviews all retail loans types (residential first mortgages, home equity loans/lines, consumer loans) and prequalification requests for compliance with all applicable consumer lending regulations including, but not limited to Reg. Z/TRID, Reg. B/Fair Lending, HMDA, FCRA, RESPA and state laws.

Reviews all commercial loan types, for compliance with applicable consumer lending regulations including, but not limited to HMDA, FCRA, Reg. B/Fair Lending, BSA and state law.

Reviews loans for conformance with Bank policies to ensure required documentation and loan approval obtained.

Reviews legal documentation to ensure preservation of the Bank’s legal rights and remedies in the event of collection, work out, or foreclosure.

Ensures compliance with flood regulations

Utilize and manage deficiency tracking logs and asset management systems

Documents errors and deficiencies, managing tracking systems, for both commercial and retail, to ensure most up to date data is available for reporting

Facilitates reporting efforts in conjunction with the Compliance and Quality Control Manager

Recommends process enhancements

Operates the organization’s asset management software correctly assigning relationship and office codes to ensure proper reports are generated for management and regulatory agencies

Keeps current on regulatory issues effecting the lending area as it relates to system adequacy, training and reports

Conducts post-closing

credit/underwriting

reviews of originated, withdrawn, and declined loans to evaluate credit risk to the Bank’s loan portfolio following the applicable credit policy underwriting guidelines within the scope prescribed by the Lending Assurance Policy and annual Lending Assurance Risk Assessment.

Completes required pre- and post-closing credit/underwriting reviews of residential mortgages in conformance with secondary market requirements and other investor/guarantor requirements.

Completes credit/underwriting reviews of a sample of originated loans to assess the appropriateness of the decision.

Completes credit/underwriting reviews of a sample of withdrawn and declined loans to assess the appropriateness of adverse action.
