Overview
The Town of Wellesley is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. The Town currently has a full-time Industrial Equipment Operator position for the Recycling and Disposal Facility. The incumbent will work under the general supervision of the Superintendent of the Recycling and Disposal Facility (RDF). You can find job opportunities at Wellesley Public Schools here. The incumbent is responsible for the safe operation of diesel and gas-powered equipment used for baling recyclable materials, screening yard waste products, grinding wood and brush, and loading compost and woodchips into containers and vehicles. The role also involves piling and moving recyclable and other waste products at the RDF, as well as participating in strategies designed to maximize the Town’s revenue by removing recyclables from the waste stream. The incumbent contributes to the RDF’s ongoing efforts to maintain a high standard of service delivery to its customers.
Responsibilities
Safely operate diesel and gas-powered equipment (e.g., front-end loaders, forklifts, trucks) at the Recycling and Disposal Facility under the supervision of the RDF Superintendent. Bale recyclable materials, screen yard waste, grind wood and brush, and load compost and woodchips into containers and vehicles. Pile and move recyclable and other waste products at the RDF. Participate in strategies designed to maximize Town revenue by removing recyclables from the waste stream. Contribute to the RDF’s ongoing efforts to maintain a high standard of service delivery to customers.
Qualifications
Valid Massachusetts Class B CDL and a valid Hoisting Engineer’s License Classes 1C and 2B issued by the Massachusetts Department of Public Safety. Equipment experience includes front-end loaders, forklifts, and trucks. High School Diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Public Weigher.
