Milligan College
First Christian Church is an active church of 190 members in
Marshall, IL . We have 2 Sunday Services,
traditional
at 8:30 and
contemporary
at 10:00, with classes during both. We have an excellent worship and multimedia team and an active and committed youth ministry. We have small groups that meet throughout the week, and we feed the ones that meet on Wednesday nights with a free meal to help the parents that work be able to attend. First Christian is a family that is
very committed to our Lord Jesus Christ and our community , it is a great place to worship and serve.
Our church is located across the street from our communities High School and Junior High and we host the High School on the first Tuesday of each month for Taco Tuesday where we fee from 175 to 200 of the High School kids. This is all accomplished by our church members and staff. Our church also hosts a Fifth Quarter after home football games and the School system uses our facility for many events during the school year. Our adults have went to Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch the last two years on a mission work trip, with another trip planned this year. We are also known in the community for our Celebrate Recovery programs.
Our church has been in this community for over 100 years and continues to serve and be part of it .
Marshall is located on Il Route 40, known as the Old National Road. It is know for its history and civic pride. We have a great youth athletic program, from a community led soccer organization to our school athletics. We have a great mix of industry and farming, with Interstate 70 being on the north side of our town.

First Christian Church is looking for a new
full-time Lead Minister
to lead the staff consisting of a youth minister, a children’s minister, and a secretary. We looking for the man who feels that God is leading him here to come alongside the elders to grow and deepen the congregations walk with Jesus Christ and help lead our Church forward. The lead minister would be
expected to conduct 2 services on Sunday morning , a 8:30 traditional and a 10:00 contemporary. He would also lead and manage the staff and help develop and direct special services and events. The lead minister would also assist the elders with the small group program and any other details that he and the elders identify that need attention.
Key responsibilities include:
Preach multiple Scripturally based sermons on Sunday mornings.
Coordinate special services with the elders, worship team, and other staff members.
Lead the staff weekly and ensure the coordination and cooperation of all ministries of the church.
Coordinate adult Bible based teaching and help develop discipleship through small groups and Sunday School.
Promote and help evangelism, prayer ministry, and missions within the church.
Be an ambassador of God and the church to Marshall and the surrounding community.
Visit members in their homes and others who are home bound or in care facilities.
Love the congregation and develop long term relationships with the congregation and their families.
