Skilled and compassionate RN committed to perioperative excellence
1 year of nursing experience preferred
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Current Louisiana RN licensure required
Completion of AORN Periop 101 Course (provided during orientation) or current CNOR certification/OR experience (manager discretion)
Proficient in intraoperative care, aseptic technique, patient assessment, and procedural sedation
Strong communication, critical thinking, and surgical coordination skills

Coordinate and deliver compassionate, expert care across the surgical continuum—from pre-op to intra-op and post-op recovery. Conduct thorough physical, psychosocial, and functional assessments
Identify nursing diagnoses and develop prioritized care plans with interdisciplinary input
Document all care accurately in the medical record
Implement interventions including medication administration, patient education, discharge planning, and direct care
Monitor patients pre-operatively for emotional readiness and physical safety, verifying allergies, NPO status, and surgical data
Provide intraoperative nursing care, apply aseptic techniques, manage sterile fields, and monitor patient status
Administer and monitor procedural sedation
Set up surgical equipment and supplies based on procedural needs
Ensure safety practices for infection control, environmental risk, and documentation of implants and devices
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Participate in ongoing evaluation of outcomes and revise care plans as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
