Veterinary Extern - General Practice

NVA General Practice . This externship provides veterinary students with a unique opportunity to understand the daily operations of an NVA hospital and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Our hospitals are supportive environments committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners. Externs will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing medical cases. Additionally, externs will develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients. Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. These externships are available for veterinary students in their clinical year at Airline Animal Health and Surgery Center. Veterinary students in the clinical phase are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
