Overview
The
Psychiatric Clinical Excellence Coordinator
role at
Upstate Medical University
reports to the Deputy Director of Psychiatric Nursing. The PCEC facilitates coordination between multidisciplinary teams caring for adult and pediatric psychiatric patients to ensure exceptional outcomes and advance the impact of psychiatric care. The PCEC provides centralized clinical mentorship, coordinating educational activities, quality improvement and design to develop the expertise of patient care staff. It provides clinical leadership, promotes evidence-based practice, and leads quality initiatives as directed by the Deputy Director. The PCEC leads system-wide quality initiatives and collaborates with the Psychiatric Quality Committee, and may provide consultation to non-psychiatric service areas to promote and support high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
Lead system-wide quality initiatives and work with the Psychiatric Quality Committee.
Provide centralized clinical mentorship and coordinate educational activities for patient care staff.
Promote integration of evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives in clinical settings.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams caring for adult and pediatric psychiatric patients to ensure exceptional outcomes.
Provide consultation to other service areas to support high-quality patient care.
Minimum Qualifications
NYS licensed/registered RN (or eligible).
Masters degree in Nursing or related field.
Minimum of three years acute care experience in nursing, including psychiatry.
Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills; strong problem-solving abilities.
CPR-BLS certification required by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Nursing certification in Psychiatry preferred.
