Position Overview
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) is actively growing and recruiting a highly motivated addiction psychiatrist committed to excellence in clinical care and a career in academic psychiatry. OSUWMC offers unique opportunities for a diverse workforce and is seeking an addiction psychiatrist to lead an inpatient dual diagnosis service, with additional opportunities for partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. The successful candidate will work within our interdisciplinary programs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health.
Department/Division Overview
The successful candidate will join a 50+-member Section of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Health. Our department is vibrant and expanding. Harding Hospital has 84 inpatient adult psychiatric beds, 25 withdrawal management beds, 15 residential SUD beds, and our psychiatric emergency service sees over 8,000 consults annually. We have expanding partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs and are developing additional suburban sites. Our residency program includes over 50 general psychiatry residents with plans for expansion, along with fellowships in child psychiatry, addiction medicine, forensic psychiatry, and consult-liaison psychiatry. http://psychiatry.osu.edu/ . Duties and Responsibilities Faculty responsibilities encompass patient care, education, and clinical research, requiring thorough knowledge of DSM-5 and ICD-10 diagnoses. The candidate will have opportunities to contribute to training, research, and scholarly activities. Additional duties include participating in committees, conferences, and representing OSU at professional and community events. The psychiatrist is expected to practice within established policies and standards of the Medical Center and focus on key results areas.
