Job Summary Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations with a technical focus, maintaining high standards of medical ethics and self‑motivation in understanding vascular disease. Conducts clinical assessment and diagnostic vascular laboratory examinations, using cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record anatomical pathology and diagnostic images. Ensures patient safety, comfort and confidentiality throughout the sonography procedure.
Maintains laboratory accreditation through ICAVL, ACR and JCAHO. Establishes and sustains ethical working relationships with patients, physicians, colleagues, and peers. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology and hemodynamics, with proficiency in two‑dimensional color flow and Doppler waveform analysis, as well as age‑related testing protocols.
Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians and other healthcare workers. May also administer medications to licensed personnel and perform ultrasound procedures for the mobile outreach program, including travel by vehicle, aircraft, and overnight stays when required.
Responsibilities
Perform all ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level.
Maintain laboratory accreditation and quality standards.
Provide patient care with safety, comfort and professionalism.
Communicate findings to physicians and healthcare team.
Participate in mobile outreach and screening activities.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent two years of experience.
Registration or eligibility for ARDMS (RVT) or CCI (RVS) certification; required within 24 months.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record; experience with mobile outreach transportation.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and ongoing renewal.
Additional licensure may be required for North Dakota programs.
