Learn more about the incentive program here: https://jobs.unchealthcare.org/pages/imaging-commitment-incentive-program Summary: Demonstrates expert knowledge in a variety of functions requiring considerable anatomic and physiologic understanding, advanced 2D and 3D digital imaging operations, excellent patient care, strict adherence to sterile technique, and patient monitoring. Provides diagnostic and interventional imaging across multiple service lines, including vascular and interventional radiology, with intermediate sedation or general anesthesia. Vascular Interventional staff collaborate with Surgical Oncology, IA Stroke, Aortic Code Team, and Trauma services, and share responsibility for Pulmonary Embolus Response Team (PERT) and Trans-Arterial Valve Repair (TAVR) with Cardiac Services. Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm Responsibilities
Documentation: Schedule patient transportation, coordinate with anesthesia, inpatient teams, chemotherapy pharmacy, and ICUs; create procedural orders when needed; confirm patient identity and consent; maintain procedure documentation and record supplies used; input procedural details (biopsy passes, measurements, lines, drains, thrombectomy attempts), fluoroscopy time and dose, and sedation/contrast used; ensure proper coding and image transmission; import prior CT data for fusion roadmapping; record endovascular repair data. Equipment Operation: Provide high-quality multi-modality imaging support using fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT; perform portable interventional procedures; support operating room radiologic technologists and cardiac cath staff; perform image post-processing and QA; run system checks and QA testing; clean equipment and suites; operate single/bi-plane systems and various imaging and intervention tools; notify supervisor of malfunctions and troubleshoot with vendor support. Patient Care: Describe exams, position patients, monitor hemodynamics, maintain sterile technique, assist interventionalist as first assist, manage intraprocedural supplies, administer/regulate regulated pharmaceuticals, protect staff and patient from radiation, apply post-procedural dressings, and ensure specimens are properly identified and delivered. Set Up: Prepare interventional suite with sterile trays, equipment, and patient data; obtain prior imaging and records; maintain sterile technique; ensure pharmaceuticals are ready for administration, including chemotherapy and contrast agents. Supply Management: Determine needed items, restock, communicate with Inventory; document supplies used and patient charges; dispose of used items and hazardous waste per policy. Team Support: Provide supplies and equipment during procedures; act as first assist and assist in table-side and back-table management; support onboarding and precept radiography students. Workflow Coordination: Potentially coordinate staff schedules, manage patient flow, liaison between Interventional Radiology and anesthesia, and other units to ensure continuity of care; may lead technologist assignments in lieu of the Clinical Supervisor. Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program. Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies or registry eligible and must become registered within one year from date of hire; registry-eligible candidates must provide a diploma; maintain registry status and continuing education annually; Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
