Position Summary This position may be located within a Hospital Facility, Patient Service Center (PSC), In Office Phlebotomy (IOP) or Mobile Diagnostic Services (MDS). It may provide coverage at multiple locations: collection and receipt of biological specimens, proper entry into the company’s computer system, preparation of samples for analytical testing, distribution to the appropriate analytical area, and may perform specified analytical testing as assigned. Follows guidelines of the Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

Collect and receive biological specimens from patients.

Enter specimens into the company’s computer system.

Prepare samples for analytical testing.

Distribute specimens to the appropriate analytical area.

Perform specified analytical testing as assigned.

Follow established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience (required).

Experience drawing patients of all ages (preferred).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Travel required between assigned sites.

Flexibility to work in multiple locations (doctor’s office/Patient Service Centers).

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum age 18.

High School diploma or equivalent (dependent on state requirements).

Basic knowledge of departmental resource materials.

Completion of a phlebotomy program or experience.

May require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or obtainability.

Valid state driver’s license and eligibility for auto insurance coverage.

Float positions require travel, flexible hours, weekend/holiday/overtime availability, occasional on-call duties.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Additional related education or experience.
