Overview
As an Exercise Physiologist, you will assist the cardiac rehabilitation team to educate and provide exercise leadership for in-patients and out-patients with the goal to restore optimal functional activity. You will gather exercise data and implement specialized strength and conditioning programs for patients under the direction of an Exercise Physiologist, Nurse or Physician.
You will also provide patient education regarding proper exercise techniques, stress reduction, developing coping skills, and promote health and fitness through a variety of programs in the Wellness Center.
Qualifications
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Previous Cardiopulmonary Rehab or other clinical experience, preferred Training to include Phase I, Phase II and Phase III exercise leadership in a hospital setting Knowledge of exercise, nutrition and social coping skills for behavioral modification applicable to Cardiac Rehab Prior use of electronic medical records (EMR), preferred Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related from an accredited university or college 12 Lead ECG competency, preferred or within 90 days of hire Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required ACLS from the American Heart Association preferred Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly). This PRN role works variable shifts Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm at St. Anthony North Hospital. We prefer experienced applicants who have experience in cardiac rehab and/or pulmonary rehab.
