Wage Range:
$28.26 - $45.23 per hour
Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education, and internal equity.
Job Summary: Responsible for assisting pharmacists, patients, and other healthcare personnel in the provision of pharmaceutical services. The role involves a collaborative and professional approach to support clinical excellence and safety. Primary responsibilities include the timely delivery of medications to patient care areas and teamwork in triaging medication delivery.
Primary Duties:
Answer and triage phone calls and in-person requests within the department, utilizing excellent customer service skills.
Accurately calculate, determine, and select the correct dose for measurement, withdrawal, and assembly, to be checked by the pharmacist.
Safely and accurately prepare medications for pharmacist review, including activities like:
Using compounding formulas for topical ointments and creams
Repackaging unit dose medications from bulk bottles or packages
Compounding oral solutions and packaging
Preparing hazardous oral medications in final dosage form
Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt, rotating inventory, and removing outdated drugs.
Ensure proper storage of medications according to manufacturer requirements and organizational policies, including storage of high-risk and emergency medications.
Deliver medications timely to patient care areas, restock automated dispensing cabinets, fulfill departmental requests, and support emergency medication needs.
Operate pharmacy automation and technology safely and efficiently, including processing medication requests, operating tube stations, troubleshooting, and managing reports.
Maintain proper chain of custody for controlled substances, ensuring proper storage, control, and documentation of all transactions.
Complete daily tasks promptly, communicate effectively with team members, and support workflow as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience: Required:
High School diploma or equivalent
Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician license
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organizational ability
Ability to work efficiently in busy and stressful situations
Desired:
Healthcare pharmacy experience
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
