Pay Rate $27.01/hour (W2)

Duration 12-Month Contract (Extendable)

Shift Schedule 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Rotating days, every other weekend)

Position Summary The Biotechnologist Associate is responsible for the manufacturing of therapeutic proteins (APIs) under current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) conditions. This role involves executing process recipes, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs), monitoring equipment and processes, and performing basic laboratory and sanitization tasks to ensure a clean, compliant, and safe production environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of following procedures accurately in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Comprehensive training will be provided to help associates develop proficiency in assigned tasks and aseptic techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment and processes.

Execute Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) operations.

Perform and document activities in accordance with GMP and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Conduct basic laboratory tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, sampling).

Transfer raw materials, intermediates, and chemicals safely across production areas.

Perform routine cleaning and sanitization of equipment and facilities; support 6S/continuous improvement initiatives.

Participate in shift exchanges, meetings, email communications, and assigned projects.

Maintain training compliance and achieve qualifications for all assigned tasks.

Demonstrate proper aseptic technique and adhere to cleanroom gowning standards.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education

Preferred:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.

Required:

High school diploma or GED.

Experience

Prior experience in manufacturing, laboratory work, or other regulated environments is preferred.

Candidates with the following backgrounds have shown success in similar roles:

Food service or culinary (recipe following, material handling)

Mechanical/technical roles (robotics, EMT, maintenance, tech support)

Security or military backgrounds

Healthcare support roles (nurses, nurse aides)

Positions requiring strict adherence to SOPs and safety guidelines

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in following procedures.

Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

Comfort working with automated systems and computer interfaces.

Team-oriented mindset with clear communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment (gowning required).

Commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
