Duties/Responsibilities
Use genetic screens, bioinformatics and microscopy-based approaches to discover and study novel gene products that contribute to the mechanisms of intracellular pattern formation.
Use the genetic model protist Tetrahymena thermophila.
Identify new components of the pathway using genetic suppressor screens.

Position Summary
Study Hpo1, its interactions with other patterning proteins and its localization using super-resolution and immunogold electron microscopy.
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position A Ph.D. in Cell Biology, or Developmental Biology or Genetics.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies
Highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with expertise in molecular biology, genetics and microscopy-based imaging.
Physical Demands Sitting, standing and walking.
