Role:

Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer Schedule:

5 8s or 4 10s; day shift, on call requirement (30 minutes) Commitment Bonus:

available if relocating greater than 50 miles Responsibilities

Perform daily clinical operations of Echocardiography including performing Echocardiograms, entering preliminary interpretation, covering all sites and shifts including call coverage. Level I: Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms (2D, 3D, Doppler, Transesophageal, Stress Echocardiogram) and provides service at all necessary locations with variable shifts and emergent call coverage as scheduled. Operate equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic recording; utilize transducers, digital networking systems, and off-line analysis systems. Maintain equipment, perform cleaning and preventive maintenance, and report malfunctions. Analyze patient records to obtain history for diagnostic procedures; prepare preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist. Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain logs and records; ensure confidentiality of patients and staff; instruct students, fellows, nurses, or health personnel as requested. Attend meetings and conferences; contribute to continuing education and professional growth. Level II–III progression and scope

Level II: Participate in patient testing, perform routine, non-routine, urgent, and emergent studies with independent judgment; assist physician with echocardiography-guided procedures; act as resource and preceptor; assist in department objectives and QA initiatives. Level III: Perform advanced cardiac ultrasound services (congenital, myocardial mechanics, 3D imaging, stress) with independent judgment; provide expert instruction to other sonographers; ensure QA and protocol consistency; oversee ICAEL compliance and accreditation processes; lead clinical education and department policies; supervise staff and assist with capital equipment decisions. Education, experience, and certifications

Education : Graduate or completion of program meeting eligibility for registry/certification or currently holds required registry/certification. Experience : Level I—none required beyond education; Level II—minimum of two years of experience as a Sonographer; Level III—a minimum of 4 years in the specialty modality. Certifications : ARDMS/CCI certification in Echocardiography; ARDMS/CCI certification within 18 months of hire; BLS certification. Knowledge, skills, and abilities

Proficiency in echocardiography procedures; ability to work across sites; strong communication and teamwork skills; commitment to quality and patient safety. Qualifications by level

Level I: ARDMS certifications as required by each entity within 18 months of employment. Level II: Minimum two years' experience as a Sonographer.
