CT Technologist — PRN (Omaha, NE)
Nebraska Cancer Specialists is seeking a skilled PRN CT Technologist to operate CT scanning equipment and capture diagnostic images that meet high technical standards. The role includes managing radiologic supplies, maintaining equipment, ensuring infection control, and monitoring patients during scans for contrast reactions.
Responsibilities
Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
Appropriately position patients for specific areas of the body.
Perform routine warm‑up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X‑ray tubes.
Sanitize radiologic equipment to ensure patient safety.
Interpret and follow physicians’ written scanning instructions.
Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance visibility of internal organs and tissues.
Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
Explain scanning procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required.
Assist in the development of protocols.
Obtain and submit clinical and phantom images for ACR accreditation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in radiologic technology.
State license to work as a CT technologist.
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Proven experience working as a CT technologist.
CPR and BLS certification.
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
