Speech Language Pathologist - Student Teacher - Spring 2026 role at Douglas County School District. Responsibilities
Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing a positive culture and climate to develop relationships with students that foster growth emotionally and academically.
Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct including following all laws, district policies and school procedures and expectations.
Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated instructional activities in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to reach their academic potential.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development and prepare required reports based on informal and formal assessments.
Utilize and integrate technology to provide a variety of learning materials and resources for educational activities.
Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration with students, staff, supervisors, and parents/guardians.
Position Details This is an unpaid student teacher/intern position. The role involves gradual release with the mentor teacher, where student teachers gradually take co-ownership of the classroom.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Coursework toward a degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (as applicable to a student teacher role).
Certifications: As required by the district and state education standards.
Skills: Strong communication, organization, and ability to work collaboratively with a mentor teacher.
Compensation and Schedule This is an unpaid internship/student teacher position. Salary ranges listed below are for reference for full-time roles; this position is not paid.
Minimum Hire Rate: $0.00 USD hourly
Maximum Hire Rate: $10.00 USD hourly
Full Salary Range: $0.00 - $20.00 USD hourly
Notes: All salary amounts assume full-time equivalence; part-time salaries prorated accordingly.
Benefits This position is eligible for voluntary 401(k), 403(b) and 457 retirement plans.
