Overview

Full-time position, Monday to Friday. Work during the day, no weekends or on-call duties. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will have responsibilities in both the hospital and outpatient settings. The NP will work closely with colorectal and urology surgeons. This includes helping mark sites for surgery and ensuring patients and their families understand how to care for ostomies. This means explaining what to expect, life changes, and follow-up care after the procedure. Key Responsibilities

Assess ostomy patients thoroughly. This includes checking wounds, skin health, and overall well-being. Create personalized care plans for each patient to support healing and manage problems. Teach patients about how to care for their ostomy, maintain skin health, and avoid complications. Work together with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated care. Use proven methods and advanced wound care techniques to help patients heal and avoid infections. Keep accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and results following hospital rules and standards. Applicants should have strong communication skills and a dedication to providing excellent care to patients in need. At least one year of experience as an Nurse Practitioner is preferred, especially in wound care and ostomy care. However, we will also consider recent graduates who will complete their studies in 2025. Qualifications

Must be Board Certified (by start date) - REQUIRED Must have a New York License (or be willing to get one) - REQUIRED Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (WOCN) Certification is required (please mention in the application) - REQUIRED Must have knowledge and experience in wound care and ostomies (please mention in the application) - REQUIRED DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration (or be willing to get one) - REQUIRED At least one year of experience as an NP, preferably in wound care and ostomy (please mention in the application) - HIGHLY PREFERRED Certification Requirements
