Summa Health Medical Group is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to assist physicians in all aspects of an Orthopedic/Sports Medicine medical office. Responsibilities include casting, splinting, DME (durable medical equipment) and general patient and surgical care. Assists in procedure and general maintenance of equipment, supplies and exam rooms. Formal Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent Orthopedic Technologist Certification preferred Experience and Training Required: One year PTA, OTA, Exercise Physiology, Medical Assistant (with Orthopedic/Sports Medicine experience) in lieu of Ortho Tech Certification. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology Knowledge of medical terminology Basic computer skill Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Level of Physical Demands: Light exertion; up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently; ability to sit or stand for extended periods; ability to bend, stoop and lift; dexterity to use clinical instruments and equipment and basic office equipment Base pay
$21.54/hr - $25.86/hr Location
