seeking a BC/BE Breast Surgeon at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania

Comprehensive Breast Health Program

Onsite radiologists, pathologists, breast and plastic surgeons, psychologists, geneticists, nurse navigators, and a high-risk clinic

ACR-accredited Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

Blocked OR and clinic time

Advanced Imaging Technology

3D HD screening and diagnostic mammography

Multimodality breast interventions including upright tomographic, ultrasound, and MRI-guided biopsies

Fully integrated electronic health record (Epic)

Academic & Research Opportunities

Opportunity to teach our residents and medical school students

Position Details A surgeon who is especially skilled in operating on the breast. A breast surgeon may biopsy a tumor in the breast and, if it is malignant, remove the tumor. A breast surgeon may also do breast reconstruction following a mastectomy for breast cancer. The surgeons who carry out this type of breast reconstruction may be breast oncology surgeons or plastic surgeons (surgeons trained in both these are known as oncoplastic surgeons).

Education Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)

Experience Certification(s) and License(s) Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
