Overview
Dual Esthetician/Massage Therapist, Spa (OC) at Montage International. We are seeking a professional who will contribute to providing luxury spa experiences and uphold the brand’s standards of guest care and wellbeing. Responsibilities
Perform direct spa services for guests including massage therapies, body treatments, facials and waxing. Personalize each guest’s experience according to individual wellness goals while maintaining safety and sanitation standards. Start and complete treatments within defined timeframes following spa protocols and luxury service standards. Anticipate guest needs by referencing guest information, bookings, and preferences to create a seamless experience. Offer thoughtful homecare suggestions with the guest’s best interests in mind, without strong selling pressure. Maintain high ethics and professionalism, ensuring guest safety and comfort; practice discreet draping and sanitation per California law and Pendry expectations. Prepare and reset treatment rooms to Pendry standards, including cleaning, presentation, and stock management. Perform prep work, equipment maintenance, and restock spaces to ensure a seamless work environment. Follow Pendry grooming guidelines and interact courteously with guests and hotel staff. Pursue ongoing learning about Pendry products, services, and standards of luxury; maintain knowledge of services, indications, contraindications, and ingredients. Care for equipment and supplies, manage product usage to minimize waste, and adapt to flexible scheduling to meet spa demand. Attend mandatory meetings and training with Spa leadership; mentor others and assist in onboarding and training with Spa Front Desk as needed. Participate in safety programs and injury reporting; support Pendry’s community, sustainability, and environmental initiatives. Communicate with management about occurrences involving staff or guests; handle concerns professionally and courteously. Contribute to a positive work environment and support teamwork across spa areas (guest relaxation spaces, locker rooms, boutique, fitness center). Escort guests to and from treatment rooms and address immediate needs throughout the spa. Perform other duties as requested by Spa Pendry and hotel leadership. Qualifications
REQUIRED Valid Massage Certification from the California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC). Valid Esthetician License from the State Board of California. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing Massage Therapist and Esthetician in a similar role and environment. Ability to communicate clearly in English (speaking, reading, writing, understanding). Able to work holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends. Preferred Experience in a luxury spa or hotel environment with high guest service standards; preferably in properties rated 4- or 5-star by Forbes. Additional certificates for specialty treatments and modalities. Formal education or degree in Hospitality. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, massage therapy, beauty therapy at NVQ, ITEC or CIDESCO. Skills Strong massage and facial application skills. Detail-oriented, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; calm under pressure. Passion for luxury service with a customer-first orientation. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Maintain discretion and confidentiality of guest and hotel information. Physical Requirements
Position requires standing, walking, lifting up to 20 pounds regularly and up to 45 pounds occasionally; ability to move and maneuver equipment and supplies; capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent guest interactions; normal vision and hearing for communication and safety.
