We are a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities across Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. Currently, we are seeking a Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our team at the Sutphin location in Queens, NY.
The Dental Assistant will assist Dentists and Hygienists, prepare and dismantle operatories for patient treatment, and perform duties in compliance with relevant standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Check in patients and notify providers of their arrival. Monitor and update patient charts; record visit data, add sheets to medical records, and document radiographs and treatment plans. Record daily patient appointment data, including no-shows, cancellations, emergencies, and payment sources. Take and process radiographs as directed. Assist dentists and hygienists with patient care. Follow OSHA standards and CDC guidelines for infection control. Maintain supplies and instruments in the dental operatory. Manage dental laboratory tasks, including processing instruments and monitoring lab cases. Perform regular maintenance procedures for sterilization equipment. Minimum Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Vocational/Technical School diploma. 0-1 year of work-related experience.
