Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Cath Lab Tech for a 13-week travel assignment in South Charleston, West Virginia. The technologist will assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab, prepare patients and equipment, monitor hemodynamic data, assist physicians during procedures, and ensure patient safety. Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, adhering to infection control and procedural protocols Perform sheath removal and hemostasis as directed Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs Assist with inventory management and ensure proper storage of sterile instruments and medications Adhere to radiation safety protocols and hospital policies Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Required Qualifications
One year’s recent experience as a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification ARRT, RCES, or RCIS certification Current ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Preferred Qualifications
Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. The role includes preparing patients and equipment, monitoring data, assisting physicians, and ensuring patient safety. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise, critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations. Essential Work Functions
Prepare and position patients for interventional procedures Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, and equipment Operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems Scrub in and maintain sterile field Ensure proper documentation and inventory management Adhere to radiation safety and infection control protocols Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication English language proficiency in reading and writing Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and PC skills Physical ability to handle job demands (lifting 50-100 lbs, standing, etc.) Ability to work with a diverse healthcare team Technical/motor skills for assisting with procedures Ability to cope with high-pressure environments and flexible schedules Visual acuity and effective communication skills Benefits Include
