Salary Range: $32.50 - $52.00 per hour
Job Summary:
Administers speech and language evaluations, tests and examinations to diagnose and plan treatments for clients, patients and residents with various speech problems and swallowing disorders; assesses clients, patients and residents with speech, language, cognitive or swallowing problems and develops individualized treatment plans based on clinical diagnoses; provides speech and language services, monitors disease progression and adjusts treatments accordingly; instructs clients, patients and residents in practicing speech and language therapeutic exercises and provides consultation; ensures all speech and language related standards, policies, protocols and quality requirements are met; may treat individuals of all ages and varying diagnoses; documents and meets regulatory requirements; demonstrates level of treatment associated with specialty; follows accepted clinical practice guidelines; exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules and assignments; participates in activities to promote department, Good Samaritan Society and Sanford Health; may supervise assistants, aides and students; provides ongoing education and training; performs related duties as requested by manager; focuses on post‑acute, long‑term care and home health when applicable.
Qualifications
Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
Licensed Speech–Language Pathologist in the state(s) of practice.
Preferred: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence or working on a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
Valid driver’s license when applicable.
Must obtain and maintain required department‑specific competencies and certifications; Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
