The H70 Orthopedic Unit cares for adult post-operative orthopedic patients and overflow patients from other specialties, including surgeries like total joint replacements and sarcoma resections. The primary conditions treated include osteoarthritis, infections, fractures, and necrosis.
A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00AM – 7:30PM or 7:00PM – 7:30AM.
A successful candidate will:
Participate in a residency core curriculum tailored to individual learning needs.
Provide direct nursing care with support from a success coach.
Prioritize patient care based on acuity, preferences, and resources.
Respond to data indicating patient risks and take appropriate action.
Seek supervision and assistance when needed to ensure safety.
Document patient care accurately in medical records.
Minimum qualifications include:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Current RN licensure in the state.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
New graduate or less than one year of RN experience.
Preferred qualifications include a BSN degree.
Physical requirements involve mobility, dexterity, and working under stress, with exposure to communicable diseases. The role involves medium physical effort, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Personal protective equipment will be used as required.
