Novi location . General Summary
Provides evidence-based care in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders within an interdisciplinary team. Also provides individual, conjoint, group, and family psychotherapy; in addition to crisis intervention services, as needed. Ensures that the quality of care is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts diagnostic and psychosocial assessments and treatment planning to determine appropriate care for patients and families. Provides evidence-based care in the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders and substance use disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients (as qualified) in an outpatient setting. Performs evidence-based psychotherapy including individual, conjoint, family, group, and didactic as qualified. Provides urgent consultation/evaluations and crisis services as necessary. Completes all clinical documentation timely and in accordance with regulations and standards. Ensures access for patient appointments is timely and meets clinic standards. Quality Management
Compliance with all accreditors and regulators (JCAHO, Blue Cross, Medicare, HIPAA). Participates in departmental quality improvement initiatives. Maintains departmental productivity/utilization expectations and optimizes revenue cycle. Research and Education
Participates in education through didactic presentations or clinical supervision. Attains 15 hours of continuing education credits annually. Completes mandatory educational courses as assigned. Maintains core competencies and collaborates with research initiatives. Professionalism
Works collaboratively with staff to ensure quality care and a positive environment. Supports departmental mission, attends meetings, and performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience
Master's (or Doctoral) degree in clinical or counseling psychology with at least one year supervised post-masters experience working with a diverse pediatric population, OR a Master’s degree in Social Work with two years post-Master’s experience in mental health/chemical dependency setting. Certifications and Licenses
Licensed Psychologist; OR Limited Licensed Psychologist; OR Licensed Master’s in Social Work. Additional Information
