Job Overview To provide family‑centered, age‑appropriate clinical cardio pulmonary care. Utilize assessment findings in a timely manner to establish patient and family needs in collaboration with the health care team. Communicate findings in both verbal and written format. Seek personal / professional development; assure safe operation of life support equipment and perform other duties as required. Take a leadership role as assigned, act as a clinical resource to other departments. May precept staff after displaying proficiency. Participate in hospital / departmental committees, special projects, and research.
This position is per diem, day shift, non exempt and health insurance eligible. The pay range for this position is $52.38 - $73.94/hour. Compensation is determined based on relevant experience and department equity.
Responsibilities
Ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, tracheostomy tube management, bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, sedation, blood gas and indirect calorimetry.
Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through discharge, and charts appropriately
Serves as a resource and provides education to students, nurses, and new employees as needed
Assures safe, cost‑effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas
Qualifications Minimum:
CA RT Licensure
BLS
PALS (within 6 months of hire)
Preferred:
2 years pediatric experience
National Registration by National Board for Respiratory Care
