Join Client’s Discovery Chemistry team to help shape the future of agriculture through science and innovation. The Discovery Chemist will support the design and synthesis of novel organic compounds for crop protection, pest control, and vegetation management. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, hands-on chemist eager to contribute to early-stage research in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities

Perform multi-step organic synthesis (mg to g scale) under minimal supervision. Collaborate with scientists across disciplines (biology, biochemistry, computational chemistry) to explore structure-activity relationships (SAR) and optimize lead compounds. Execute and troubleshoot synthetic routes using modern chemical methodologies. Conduct compound purification and characterization using techniques such as chromatography, crystallization, NMR, and LCMS. Accurately document experimental procedures, results, and data. Maintain compliance with all laboratory safety and chemical hygiene protocols. Required Skills

BS in Chemistry with 2+ years of relevant experience OR MS in Chemistry (Biology candidates will not be considered). Strong background in Organic Chemistry, with hands-on experience in synthesis and reaction optimization. Proficiency in purification methods (e.g., chromatography, crystallization). Skilled in compound characterization techniques (e.g., NMR, LCMS). Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Skills

Previous experience in agricultural chemistry or discovery-phase R&D. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot synthetic challenges. Enthusiastic, collaborative mindset and eagerness to innovate. Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry (Organic Chemistry focus strongly preferred). Seniority level
