NaphCare is hiring a
Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
to join our team of medical professionals at the San Diego County Jail located in San Diego, CA. Payrate ranges from
$45.90 - $48.45/hour . As a
Correctional Qualified Mental Health Professional
(QMHP), you will provide mental health services, including assessments, treatments, and support to the facility residents, while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex mental health needs.
Responsibilities
Provide and document mental health evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress notes. Provide individual and group therapy, including specialized groups like substance abuse or sex offender therapy. Intervene in crisis situations, including suicide prevention and emergent mental health needs. Involve in educational and training activities related to mental health care for patients, security personnel, and healthcare staff. Collaborate with other professionals, such as medical staff, correctional officers, and social workers, to provide holistic care. Prepare inmates for release by connecting them with community resources and support services.
Qualifications
Education / Licenses / Certifications Master's prepared pre-licensed Qualified Mental Health Professional with active, unrestricted associate licensure in CA Valid CPR card Experience / Requirements / Qualifications / Skills Experience with underserved and marginalized populations, including those with mental health and substance use disorders Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with diverse individuals, including other medical professionals, correctional staff and judges Demonstrate knowledge of DSM-V / DSM-V-TR criteria Ability to interpret and analyze data to create treatment plans Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements Must pass the facility\'s criminal background check and drug screening
