Part-Time Radiology Technologist – University OUC
Join to apply for the Part-Time Radiology Technologist role at OrthoCarolina. This position is scheduled for 1-2 shifts per week, with shifts either Monday–Friday 5:30pm–9:00pm or Saturday/Sunday 10:00am–2:00pm. The Radiology Technologist will provide diagnostic quality radiographs for physicians and/or physician assistants while protecting employees and patients from unnecessary radiation and using appropriate protection standards. Demonstrates competency in positioning of all radiological procedures as prescribed by departmental policy. Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm acknowledgment of understanding, and address questions or concerns. Positions patients and selects exposure factors for various radiologic examinations; provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with prescribed methods. Logs radiological procedures completed, processes charges, and related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and stocks necessary medical and/or radiological supplies; complies with OrthoCarolina policies and procedures. Assists with transportation of patients between examination modules and the Radiology department; supports patient flow as directed by a supervisor. Skills and Abilities
Operates various radiology system equipment (Siemens/GE/Philips) and uses Digital Radiology (DR) and Computer Radiography (CR) systems. Identifies equipment problems and notifies supervisor or takes corrective action as appropriate. Positions patients properly and performs quality diagnostic radiographs; observes safety and security procedures. Qualifications
Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and the American Medical Association. Minimum of one year of experience as an x-ray tech with an orthopedic background. Registered Radiology Tech by ARRT or ARRT registry eligible. Current CPR certification recommended. Employment Type
