Overview
The Clinical Instructor will teach in the undergraduate program in Manhattan, NY, at a clinical site with 8-9 students, emphasizing patient care within the psychiatric/medical-surgical population. Clinical instructors are expected to be available for all scheduled clinical assignments during the semester. Clinicals can be held in any of the five boroughs.
Responsibilities
Complete facility orientation prior to the start of clinical.
Create patient assignments before the clinical day.
Supervise students in all aspects of patient care.
Review and provide feedback on all written clinical assignments.
Submit grades for assignments as directed by the course coordinator.
Provide weekly feedback to students in the clinical area.
Complete midterm and final clinical evaluations.
Plan instructional activities for pre- and post-conferences.
Communicate any issues at the clinical site with the course coordinator.
Responsible for all clinical hours assigned to the course.
Assist in proctoring exams if needed.
Attend faculty meetings once a semester.
Qualifications
Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
Valid NY State Professional RN license.
Medical/Surgical nursing background with 3-5 years’ experience, including clinical supervision of students.
Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer or Health Provider.
Self-directed and organized.
Compensation
Maximum Salary: USD $90.00/Hr. Minimum Salary: USD $80.00/Hr.
