Location: Milwaukee, WI at our Froedtert Hospital facility. This job is ON-SITE. FTE: 0.9 (36.0 hours per week). Shift: 3 x 12 hour nights per week, 18:00-06:30. Holidays: Holiday rotation required. Weekends: Every third weekend rotation. Job Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in the management and delivery of respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures in acute care and critical care areas. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and mastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients in accordance with the hospital\'s policies and procedures. Experience & Education
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to demonstrate RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer; 3+ years in hospital respiratory care preferred. Education: Associate degree from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program required; Bachelor\'s degree preferred. Special Skills: Critical thinking skills required. Licensure: State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC required. For incumbents prior to 7/1/21, Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted in lieu of RRT. BLS required; ACLS required. NBRC advanced specialty credential or AE-C from NAECB preferred. Benefits
