Summary Under the direction of the Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef supervision, the Dietary Aide I prepares and delivers food trays to Skilled Nursing facility residents and performs designated work and cleaning routines.
Responsibilities
Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co‑workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
Arrives to work on time, in proper clean uniform, good personal hygiene and with nametag visible.
Pre‑assembles resident trays and carts as directed; assists in arranging tray cards, loading food carts, and serving meals.
Provides assistance to the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
Meets scheduled meal and snack times.
Follows cleaning schedules and performs cleaning duties as scheduled.
Sets up the dining room and serves residents.
Follows defined safety codes while performing all duties.
Follows defined Infection Control procedures.
Is knowledgeable of Federal, State, and Facility’s rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Performs other department duties or special assignments as directed by the Dietary Manager.
Prepares and delivers between meal nourishments and snacks to the nursing station.
Cleans and maintains the dining area, including tables and furnishings after meals.
Ensures the dining room is clean and transports dishes, trash, etc. to the appropriate area.
Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and follows all federal, state, and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs.
Follows department safety standards, practices correct body mechanic techniques and participates in campus‑wide safety programs.
Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner; wears safety equipment as required for the job; reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor.
Attends all mandatory in‑service meetings and complies with all department and facility policies and procedures.
Understands facility’s fire and disaster plans and follows established procedures during drills and actual emergencies.
All employees are required to follow safe work habits to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees.

Essential Competencies
Must have the ability to distinguish between all whistle signals.
Must be alert to and address any problems with pool and its operations.
Credentials
Some High School Education.
