Job Summary Professionally trained individual who produces high-quality radiographs for interpretation and diagnosis. Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all patient, family, visitor, and employee interactions, regardless of cultural background.
Job Responsibilities
Operates all equipment effectively, safely, and efficiently.
Formulates and employs safe radiographic exposure factors, minimizing radiation dose.
Follows safety protocols and complies with medical, state, and federal safety standards.
Proficient in all aspects of ordered X-ray procedures for diagnostic imaging.
Utilizes computer systems in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Obtains, records, and ensures proper charging, coding, and modifiers for procedures.
Reviews images for quality; assists with QC, QA, QI, or ACR as needed.
Performs routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment; reports malfunctions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
CPR certified.
ARRT(R) registered or eligible.
State Licensure: Kentucky (KBMIRT Radiation Operator's License) or Indiana (ISDH License).
Specialized Knowledge
Understanding of radiation protection principles.
Competence in routine, fluoroscopic, surgical, and trauma radiography.
Experience
Clinical experience from an approved program.
