The O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is one of 51 NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the United States and is the only one in Alabama and in the Deep South region. A comprehensive designation also means UAB Medicine patients have access to leading-edge treatments or clinical trials that they may not otherwise have at local community hospitals or smaller cancer centers. Overview
The O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I to support clinical research studies within the protocol, under supervision and in compliance with GCP and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
Serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the protocol as directed. Support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance. Conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, including collecting and recording data, recruiting and following up with participants, scheduling visits, and coordinating lab and fieldwork. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Collect and document data for clinical research programs. Recruit and perform follow-up with research participants as protocols outline. Schedule visits according to research protocols. Assist in the coordination of lab and fieldwork. Coordinate appointments for additional procedures as necessary. Prepare for and participate in study monitoring visits. Correct findings as needed. Participate in study meetings and conference calls. Assist with the completion of Case Report Forms (CRF) according to protocol. May assist with the development of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data. Perform administrative duties in support of research conduct as needed. Prepare source documentation for review with investigators. May assist in compiling, editing, and proofing written reports for both internal and external administrative offices. May use Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems necessary for operations under supervision. Perform other duties as assigned. Annual Salary Range
$43,890 - $71,320 Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required. Prefer candidates with a bachelor's degree and two (2) years' experience working in a clinical setting. Knowledge of clinical trial processes, data collection, and data entry. Knowledge of medical terminology. Experience with recruiting and performing follow-up with research participants as protocols outline. Knowledge of protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data quality assurance. Must be able to walk 1.5 miles/day and lift 15 lbs. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Written and verbal communication skills. Data entry skills. Primary Location
