Cardiovascular Sonographer II- Rex Cardiac Echo

Echo Cardiology department seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform high quality studies. Studies to include transthoracic echo, transesophageal, Definity contrast, saline bubble study, and stress echo. Analysis and evaluation of all studies prepared by Sonographer will be a preliminary report sent to interpreting Cardiologist. We are a heart and vascular hospital with 5 ICUs. One being Newborn ICU so proficiency in pediatrics is a plus.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates competence in pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient assessment and emergency cardiac care (CPR is required). May assist with post-procedure transport.
Ensures equipment is calibrated and properly maintained daily; performs and records maintenance and quality assurance monitoring; troubleshoots and reports problems to supervisor or biomedical engineering.
Generates ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures; performs advanced cardiac ultrasound studies for patients with complex conditions and regularly conducts multiple study types across varied anatomical areas.
Performs vascular studies and real-time readings/reports in the operating room for invasive and non-invasive vascular procedures.
Performs studies for inpatient neonatal/NICU and pediatric patients.
May provide staff training and education; serves as a subject matter expert and resource to Cardiovascular Sonographers.
Monitors and records patient information; maintains report storage and data systems; compiles data for charge entry and prepares reports; retrieves stored information and reports from automated storage systems.
Prepares procedure room and equipment for daily use; ensures timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.
Independently responds to on-call needs for emergent procedures.
Education, Licensure and Certifications
Education Requirements:
Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered by ARDMS, CCI, or registry eligible and must become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education annually.
RDCS or RCS - Preferred.
Experience and Skills
Professional Experience:
One year minimum experience in an acute hospital setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Specific competencies required by entity.
