Overview
Licensed Primary Therapist at Argon Agency. The Primary Therapist plays a pivotal role in the recovery process, providing direct therapeutic support and guidance to our clients. This position involves working closely with clients to develop and implement personalized treatment plans, conducting individual and group therapy sessions, and collaborating with our team to ensure the best outcomes for each client. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of addiction and mental health disorders, a strong therapeutic skill set, and a genuine commitment to helping others.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges. Develop individualized treatment plans based on these assessments using evidence-based treatment approaches. Provide one-on-one counseling to help clients address underlying issues, develop coping strategies, and set realistic goals for recovery. Facilitate group therapy sessions to promote peer support, improve social skills, and encourage shared experiences among clients. Engage families in the treatment process, providing education and support to help them understand addiction and mental health disorders and their roles in the recovery journey. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. Participate in daily clinical meetings and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment. Respond to clients in crisis, providing immediate support and intervention as needed. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and enhance therapeutic skills. Collaborate with internal and external case managers and other support service providers in the development of an aftercare plan that facilitates recovery, wellness and overall self-sufficiency. Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, staff, families, agencies, and referents. Ensure treatment documentation meets agency and professional standards per AHCA, DCF and Joint Commission. Maintain professional ethics, including appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.
Qualifications
Licensed Clinician (LMHC, LCSW, or LMFT) or Registered Intern in the state of Florida. 1+ year of experience working with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Bilingual preferred. Experience in group facilitation and working with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in evidence-based modalities (e.g., DBT, CBT, MI). Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational abilities; ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with EMRs, LOCUS, ASAM, AHCA, DCF, and Joint Commission. Level 2 Background Check and Drug Test required. Ability to work under stressful conditions and be flexible. Knowledge of Joint Commission, AHCA, and HIPAA standards; confidentiality compliance. Ability to document all necessary information in EMR/EHR; collaborate with treatment team to ensure quality client care. Tech-savvy with Microsoft Word, Excel, and related tools. Successful completion of background screening, fingerprints, and required in-service courses (CPR, Security Awareness, HIPAA, OSHA, AIDS/HIV, COVID-19, Domestic Violence, etc.).
