Job Summary
The Manufacturing Technician II is a direct labor position reporting to a Process Execution Team (PET) Manager on the Manufacturing floor, which supports Filling operations. This position will require working in various Controlled/Non-Classified and Classified areas. The Filling Technician operates equipment, performs in-process monitoring, line clearances, OEE data collection, cosmetic inspection, cleaning and completes batch record entries in accordance with cGMPs.
Shift Night Shift position working 6p-6:30am. Working 2 nights on, 2 nights off, 3 nights on, 3 nights off and the rotation starts all over again.
Job Responsibilities
Operate assigned machinery, service filling machines with materials, remove finished materials from machine tables, and ensure smooth flow of product.
Assemble, disassemble, operate and sanitize various filling equipment.
Perform and execute filter integrity testing as needed per SOP.
Cleaning and housekeeping in assigned areas to maintain a cGMP environment.
Start up and make minor adjustments to machinery.
Enter data as required (SCADA/HMI) and other on-line computer systems.
Perform visual and physical checks of in-process and finished materials.
Work with printing devices including printing mats.
Complete batch records and GMP documentation; maintain logs and perform necessary calculations.
Understand product security controls and material handling equipment.
Be responsible for outgoing quality level.
Understand aseptic behaviors, media fills, line interventions, and basic viable/non-viable monitoring equipment.
Perform inventory control and reconciliation (may use SAP in a limited role).
Work in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, safety procedures per OSHA; know Material Safety Data Sheets for area chemicals.
Follow safety procedures and hazards including PPEs, ergonomics, LOTO, waste handling, chemical handling, and spill controls; report discrepancies.
Assist mechanical staff with preventive maintenance as required.
Support lean activities and process improvements (5S, SMED), track performance data for OEE and process improvements.
Assist with validating/engineering protocols for processes and equipment.
Identify process improvement opportunities while maintaining quality and cGMP compliance.
Be flexible in training and support other Filling functions as needed.
Perform all other duties with minimal supervision under the Process facilitator or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write, speak and follow instructions in English.
Good attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records and perform mathematical calculations.
Willingness to learn new skills and develop capabilities to contribute to the Process Execution Team.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to a changing/demanding environment.
Some overtime may be required with minimal advance notice.
Aseptic gowning qualification during training and ability to gown aseptically on a regular basis.
Preferred Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent; vocational training acceptable.
1 year of experience in a pharmaceutical or cGMP-regulated environment.
Prior production experience and LEAN manufacturing exposure.
Knowledge of cGMPs and FDA policies/procedures.
