Overview
Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA), is searching for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for a consulting opportunity based in Oshkosh, WI. The Sr Engineer - Mechanical designs functional, reliable and cost effective, heavy duty vehicle components. Perform engineering analysis and design or re-design, and development of components into existing and new vehicles. Provide integration and execution support for vehicle and component design. Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to the firm as well as general industry engineering standards and processes. Support more senior engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting. Responsible for a project or part of a project of limited complexity. May be responsible for managing multiple projects. Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally. Provide guidance or mentorship to entry level engineers, designers, or technicians working on a common project. Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues. Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures. Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability. Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material and perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements. Provide technical assistance for production support and analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication. Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations. Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records. Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs. Communicate status of issues and progress via verbal or written updates. Perform other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Accredited Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering or related field with three (3) or more years of related experience. STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
Accredited Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems. Experience with a high level CAD system. CORE COMPETENCIES

External Contacts: Limited external contact to gather information, answer queries, or ask assistance. Decision-Making: Regularly makes decisions of responsibility, involving evaluation of information. Complexity, Judgment and Problem Solving: Generally diversified and moderately difficult work; requires judgment in adapting established practices to solve undefined problems. Supervisory/Managerial: General instructing, scheduling, and reviewing the work of others; acts as lead worker. WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, visual tasks, typing; occasional driving, fine and manual dexterity; upper extremity repetitive motion; occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs. Non-Physical Demands: Frequent analysis/reasoning, communication/interpretation, math/mental computation, reading, sustained mental activity, writing. Environmental Demands: Frequent work alone, frequent task changes; occasional high-volume public contact. Work Schedule: Routine shift hours; infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.
