About the Role In this position, you will play a key role in supporting powertrain casting projects, including equipment and die specifications, process parameter development, pre-production preparation, and quality confirmation trials. You will lead project teams, coordinate capital projects, and implement problem-solving countermeasures to ensure production goals are met.
Work Location Jackson, TN (Onsite required)
Travel: As needed to support project activities
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday
What You’ll Be Doing
Manage major powertrain projects, including pre-production preparation of aluminum cylinder blocks, hybrid transmission cases, BEV e-Axle cases, and suspension members
Develop project budgets ($5M–$45M) and manage capital equipment/die procurement and installation
Plan and execute casting trials leading to start of production (SOP)
Study existing processes and develop NA-specific operation drawings to optimize production
Lead problem-solving efforts using standardized methodologies
Manage and coordinate project teams, including scheduling, contractor oversight, and consensus-building
Prepare documentation, cost justification proposals, and present capital projects for approval
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical) or equivalent experience
3+ years production preparation and/or manufacturing experience
1+ year experience with major model changes impacting equipment, fixtures, tooling, and part quality
1+ year project leadership experience, managing working groups and overall project milestones
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
3+ years casting or metals-related manufacturing engineering experience
High-pressure die casting experience
NC machining and Fanuc Robot system integration/troubleshooting experience
Toyopuc PLC system integration/troubleshooting experience
2D/3D CAD proficiency (AutoCAD, Creo, or similar)
Industrial PLC programming and troubleshooting skillsExperience leading projects with budgets exceeding $5M
Familiarity with JKK and Toyota Business Practices (TBP)
Interview Process One-round STAR/Video interview (60 minutes with the hiring manager)
