Northern Iron and Machine in Saint Paul, MN, is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to troubleshoot and ensure machine reliability in our growing organization.

2nd shift: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday – Friday (plus overtime as needed)
Wage range: $27.42 – $35 per hour, depending on experience
Job Responsibilities
Complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment within the Foundry.
Troubleshoot problems as they arise and complete long‑term projects.
Maintain and repair existing electrical infrastructure using drawings and blueprints.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Respond to requests from the Facilities Manager and/or Maintenance Supervisor, setting priorities to maximize equipment runtime.
Ensure machine uptime on overhead cranes, sand mixers, conveyors, and other foundry equipment.
Observe mechanical operations to detect deficiencies.
Inspect and test damaged machine parts.
Collaborate with supervisors, production, and other staff to plan repair and maintenance.
Install, replace, or adjust machine components using manufacturer specifications.
Rig equipment for disassembly/assembly using cranes, hoists, and other rigging equipment safely.
Follow written and verbal instructions for repair and maintenance.
Complete documentation associated with repair or preventative maintenance.
Qualifications
High school diploma preferred; technical certificate a plus.
Minimum of three years of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and overall machine troubleshooting experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with all functional departments and outside vendors/contractors.
Strong understanding of preventative maintenance procedures and documentation.
Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools and their basic functions and operations.
Ability to read pneumatic and hydraulic equipment prints.
Understanding of the math required to make repairs, fabricate, and maintain equipment.
Team player with limited direction, strong sense of urgency.
High Voltage Electrical experience is desired.
Physical & Drug Screening
Candidates must pass a physical assessment and a clear drug screen.
