Landscape Architect
– Myrtle Beach, SC
Thomas & Hutton, a well-established design firm recognized as a top workplace in Georgia and South Carolina, is seeking a Landscape Architect to join its growing team.
Responsibilities
Project management, including coordination with clients, design team, permitting jurisdictions, and contractors.
Design development at schematic, design development, and construction levels, preparing construction plans, planting and hardscape plans, details, specifications, reports, studies, cost estimates, and permit applications.
Master planning through detailed design activities as both a project manager and contributor.
Mentoring and technical oversight of junior and mid-level staff.
Business development activities such as networking, proposal preparation, interviewing, and fee negotiations.
Preparation and review of deliverables including reports, cost estimates, renderings, plans, and specifications.
Miscellaneous tasks to assist the project team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s in landscape architecture from an accredited university or college.
Five or more years of professional experience as a Landscape Architect with experience in planning and design of communities, parks, streetscapes, and similar projects.
Registration as a Landscape Architect is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to lead presentations in public and private settings; experience with public approval processes is highly desired.
Proficiency in industry software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, Microsoft Office).
Team‑oriented work style.
Some travel required to meet project deadlines.
Land and site planning design experience preferred.
Portfolio Requirement Submit a portfolio that accurately represents experience and understanding of the design process, including built project photos, presentation graphics, and other design materials.
