Position Overview The Planner position prepares complete estimates for assigned project(s) and determines project plans and specifications. This non‑exempt role reports to the Planning Supervisor or Foreman and performs a variety of routine duties within established policies.
Essential Qualifications
High school or equivalent
Minimum four (4) to five (5) years of field experience and/or education in construction technology
Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem‑solving skills
Able to plan job tasks and job durations into a work schedule
May require Turner qualifications for proprietary software
Post‑offer drug screen and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Group, LLC Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Functional Requirements Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man‑hour figures; estimates worker‑hours and materials required to complete the job; reviews specifications, drawings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate; prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work; maintains files of working documents and backup for estimate figures; follows contracts as assigned—may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procuring material, etc.; performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Compensation Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

Physical Involvement May be required to climb ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures; reach in all directions, handle and manipulate objects and materials; coordinate movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lift from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carry objects, tools, equipment; stand, walk, push, bend, kneel, crouch/squat; see with or without correction; hear with or without correction.
