Overview
Oil Processing Engineer to join the Upstream Process Engineering Division within the Process and Control Systems Department. This role focuses on Crude Oil Processing technical expertise and consultation, supporting and guiding Crude Oil Processing projects and operations. Duties and Responsibilities
Provide technical support for Crude Oil processing operating plants. Troubleshoot major plant upsets and chronic operational problems, identifying improvement opportunities, potential problems, and remedies. Lead evaluation of Crude Oil Processing and Water Treatment technologies to improve plant performance. Develop plans and roadmaps for reviewing and incorporating new technologies, including preliminary economics. Conduct process simulations using software such as Aspen HYSYS to assess production capacity and identify bottlenecks. Prepare preliminary scope of work (process schematic and equipment list) to debottleneck existing facilities or design new facilities. Coordinate capacity increase studies with operating facilities, engineering design contractors, and vendors; define design basis and scope to ensure comprehensive studies. Create/Update Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards related to Crude Oil Processing. Support process design and engineering activities for new projects in conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED and Detailed Engineering phases. Mentor and develop young Saudi engineers and deliver technical courses for engineers from operating facilities. Present technical papers at major international conferences and publish papers in reputable journals. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering; a Master’s degree or higher is desirable but not required. Minimum 20 years of experience directly related to Oil processing (Gas/Liquid Separation, Coalescers, Crude Stabilizers, Gas Compression, Water Treatment), including at least 3 years with Crude Processing Facilities. Membership in a recognized professional institute is preferred. Ability to take a lead role as the company representative when working with engineering companies on studies and design activities for Oil Processing projects. Expert in process simulation using Aspen Hysys; CFD analysis experience is preferred. Capabilities and Environment
