WIELAND’s Superintendents are expected to take ownership and drive a schedule to produce a successful project. They will provide overall onsite management for the safe and timely completion of the project while maintaining the budget.
Job Functions
Collaborate with project team weekly to develop and maintain schedule, including a 3-4 week look ahead, and hold subcontractors accountable in meeting the schedule.
Prepare daily reports within the current software system with detail and accuracy.
Schedule inspections from authorities having jurisdiction to ensure the project stays within the schedule.
Provide oversight and leadership to subcontractors on site.
Adhere to and enforce safety and cleanliness of the jobsite.
Maintain document control of all critical information under your responsibility, including insurance and contract documentation.
Ensure all sub-trades, workers, and suppliers perform according to contract provisions, specifications, and drawings.
Recognize future problems, perform research, and propose preventative action.
Monitor and walk the jobsite daily to ensure compliance with current corporate safety standards.
Develop relationships with Owners, Subcontractors, and the Design Team.
Notify the project team of any potential risks and assist in preparing a contingency plan.
Ensure accuracy of project documentation within WIELAND’s current software system.
Coordinate and supervise sub-trades, workers, and suppliers daily.
Maintain a photo library of project progress within the current software system that is easily accessible and understandable.
Hold weekly or daily jobsite coordination meetings depending on project demands, and ensure meeting minutes are tracked.
Plan all field operations in a timely manner.
Update the project schedule promptly.
Develop familiarity with site requirements, materials, and the full range of trade divisions.
Verify that materials, procedures, and installations are performed as required by contract documents.
Hold punch list meetings with subcontractors and complete them efficiently.
Anticipate and prioritize complications, creating plans to reach solutions.
Recognize future problems and propose preventative actions.
Communicate positively and effectively with other companies and departments.
Be receptive to methods for improvement or constructive criticism.
Lead by example and champion diversity in daily actions and decisions.
Respect differences and similarities; listen and understand others’ viewpoints.
Maintain and display the company's values and culture.
Travel as project demands require.
Key Performance Indicators
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent or lead foreman in the construction industry.
Strong leadership skills.
Procore experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to understand and utilize technology in the field.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to be on-site 100% and travel home bi-weekly on weekends.
