Job Title: Centrifugal Service Technician Location: San Antonio, TX Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30 PM. This role involves extensive region wide travel. Monday-Friday travel is typical. Job Overview

The Centrifugal Service Technician - Compression Technologies and Services - serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our centrifugal compressor product lines including Centac, Turbo Air models, and large reciprocating air compressors along with additional compressed air system components. This includes supervision of installation and startup of new equipment; on-site major repairs; detailed troubleshooting and any other phase of compressor repair. You will use precision measuring tools for diagnostic troubleshooting and need knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with all equipment. Responsibilities

Ensure the correct installation, maintenance, and field repair of the equipment manufactured and sold by Ingersoll Rand at the purchaser's location. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of field installation and repair requirements of this equipment. Provide technical advice and be able to train customers, potential customers, field salesmen, and field service trainees. Diagnose problems and recommend corrective action in an unsupervised environment and submit clear, accurate records and/or oral reports to the manufacturing facility. Maintain a high degree of integrity in handling business affairs. Maintain proper written and oral communication skills to transfer information related to service work in a concise and logical manner. Submit detailed technical reports on each service call in legible fashion, suitable for billing customers. Submit accurate, detailed & timely expense account records along with timecards on a weekly basis. Maintain good financial records and practices to manage company business matters, credit cards, and a company car if required. Requirements

3+ years of experience in troubleshooting industrial/commercial centrifugal air compressor mechanical systems (preferred). High school diploma or equivalent required. Candidates must provide their own basic tools. This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving weight in line with safety policies. Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations in recent years. Core Competencies

Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer usage; proficiency with handheld devices and network bases. Customer service skills such as conflict resolution, communication, and negotiation. Ability to maintain cost-efficient business travel practices. Preferences

Experience with compressed air systems/centrifugal technologies; service, diagnosis, and startup of rotary and centrifugal air compressors, dryers, cooling towers, and filtration systems. EPA 608 / F-GAS 303/2008/CE/ISHRAE Certification; Refrigeration experience a plus. Electrical/Electronic Technology or HVAC knowledge (AC/DC, wiring diagrams, motors/controls, PLCs, HVAC electricity, refrigeration systems); military or mechanical experience a plus.
