A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available (payout terms apply). This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role with a flexible schedule. Schedule may vary by market. What You’ll Do

Conduct general construction tasks in various weather conditions, adhering to safety standards. Aids in transporting construction equipment to and from the worksite. Assist with and execute the installation of aerial and buried fiber based on maps, staking sheets, and locate markings. Operate hand tools, cable locators, and testing equipment as needed. Install and set enclosures, including buried and aerial vaults, pedestals, and handholes. Climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as required, using a bucket truck when necessary. Label and mark fiber optic and copper facilities accurately. Utilize dispatching applications and relevant tools for project coordination. Support fiber splicing, repairs, and outside plant maintenance activities. Restore landscapes to their original condition upon project completion. Required Qualifications

6+ months experience in customer service, electrical or utility construction, technical certification (or higher), current military service, or honorable discharge. Must follow TDS attendance guidelines to meet business needs. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and remain eligible for DOT requirements. Other Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Class A CDL; current CDL preferred at hire, with in-house CDL training available after hire. Physical ability to climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures; kneel, dig, lift, and pull as required. Must successfully pass all Safety Training components and any customer-specific requirements (which may include a background check). Horizontal directional drilling experience preferred. Basic understanding of telecommunications products and services. Proven organizational skills and ability to multi-task. May require occasional travel and overtime; may work various shifts as needed. As an Outside Plant Construction Technician I, you may obtain a Class A CDL through our in-house program. Training includes safety, Pole Climbing, Bucket Trucks, and exposure to equipment such as Directional Drill Rigs, Mini Excavators, Trenchers, Locators, and fiber optic testing (Fusion Splicing, OTDRs). Training duration varies by team: underground training is about 3 weeks, with an additional 1 week for aerial training (full program can be 4 weeks based on market needs and prior skills). Physical Demands and Work Environment

This role involves frequent physical activity: standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds regularly (and occasionally over 100 pounds). Vision requirements include close, distance, color, and depth perception. Work is outdoors and may involve attics, crawl spaces, high-risk areas, and exposure to heavy equipment, fumes, vibration, extreme temperatures, and loud noises. Benefits
